Skin Types

Understanding the different skin types will give you a better idea of what is your type, how to treat it, and what kind of products will work for you.

Skin type is usually determined by genetics, but there are different daily habits and environmental factors that affect (and can worsen) the skin’s condition.

There are four main skin types: normal, dry, oily and combination. Identifying yours will help you to build the optimal skincare routine for your skin.

Skin Conditions

Skin conditions, unlike skin types, are not genetically predetermined and are influenced by the environment, our lifestyle, and the skincare products we apply on.

We must differentiate clinical conditions (such as dermatitis, psoriasis and so on) from cosmetic conditions (such as dehydrated skin, aging/mature skin, etc.).

Here we will discuss only the cosmetic skin conditions. They do not necessarily depend on the skin type. Furthermore, one condition can be associated with different skin types.

It is good to remember that skin conditions are treatable and reversible. You can improve your skin condition by using the right skincare routine.
